With over 20 years of extensive experience, Winstone has been a dedicated and knowledgeable tour and bird guide at Kakamega Rainforest, Kenya’s only tropical rainforest. Renowned for his deep expertise and passion for nature, Winstone offers an unmatched understanding of this forest's biodiversity, including its rare birds, trees, and wildlife. He is Proficient in identifying and educating visitors on the bird species found in Kakamega Rainforest, including rare and species such as the Blue-headed Bee-eater and Great Blue Turaco. Expert in identifying plants like indigenous and medicinal plants like the Elgon teak, croton trees, and African wild olives. Well-versed with the mammals, reptiles, and insects that call this forest a home, from the bigger primates like colobus monkeys to forest reptiles like snakes and other smaller organisms like butterflies. He is actively involved in forest conservation efforts, raising awareness about the importance of protecting Kakamega Rainforest from deforestation and habitat degradation, worked with local communities and schools to promote environmental stewardship, inspiring the next generation to value and protect natural resources.
